Connecting With Your Little Ones
I’ve been a speech therapist for eight years now and I always get the same question,
“How do I play with my child?”
Playing with a toddler can seem so intuitive, but it’s not. You have to get down on your child’s level.
Physically.
Get down on the ground and label everything you’re doing. Give the animals or dolls a voice. Pretend to cook a veggie-packed hamburger with all the condiments and take the most giant bite. Don’t forget to share and ask for help!
Play should be weird because we must tap into that silly side we push aside as adults.
Now get silly and make a strong, nurturing connection with your child.
